Employment policy pay scale equity
8.2.6 Employment policy pay scale equity
IGU adopts a fair, transparent, and equitable remuneration policy for all its employees. Salary scales are determined based on job description, level of responsibility, and merit; any form of discrimination based on gender, age, ethnic origin, or type of employment is strictly prohibited. In this regard, the University applies the principle of equal pay for equal work to all employees and guarantees that everyone, including subcontracted personnel, receives a wage sufficient to ensure decent living conditions. IGU’s employment policies go beyond merely fulfilling legal obligations; they are implemented with an approach that is grounded in ethical values, employee well-being, and institutional sustainability.
IGU’s institutional commitment on this matter is embodied in the following current and publicly available policy documents:
These policies cover all academic, administrative, and support staff, regardless of whether they are in permanent or contractual positions. A “zero tolerance” principle is adopted against all forms of discrimination, and transparent internal audit and reporting mechanisms, through which individuals subjected to discrimination can file complaints, are clearly defined. IGU regards these policies not merely as a legal obligation but as an integral part of its institutional culture, an ethical responsibility, and a core component of its sustainability vision. Through this approach, the university fosters an academic and administrative environment in which differences are valued, and everyone feels safe, equal, and included.
