4. Quality Education

4.2.1 Proportion of graduates with relevant qualification for teaching

At Istanbul Gelisim University, graduates of various undergraduate programs may acquire teaching qualifications at the primary education level by completing pedagogical formation education. Therefore, eligibility for the teaching profession is not limited to graduates of faculties of education or child development programs. Graduates from a variety of disciplines, including Turkish Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Sociology, and Psychology, may also pursue the teaching profession through pedagogical formation programs.

According to 2025 data, the number of departments at IGU producing graduates eligible to obtain teaching qualifications is 54. This diversity demonstrates that the University contributes to the development of qualified human resources not only through education-related disciplines but also by supporting the teaching competencies of individuals from a wide range of academic fields.

In 2024, out of a total of 7,814 graduates, 2,764 (35.4%) obtained teaching qualifications.
 
In 2025, out of a total of 7,545 graduates, 2,305 (30.6%) obtained teaching qualifications.
 
This proportion reveals IGU’s consistent role in teacher training and its contribution to meeting the demand for qualified human resources in primary education in Türkiye.
