4.3.5 Lifelong learning access policy

IGU does not tolerate any form of discrimination based on language, religion, race, color, sect, gender, nationality, ethnic origin, geographic region, belief, or disability. This approach applies not only to students but also to all individuals benefiting from lifelong learning activities conducted within the scope of the university’s community service mission.

Within this scope:

  • Through the Equality Policy, all forms of discrimination are rejected, and an inclusive learning environment is ensured for everyone.
  • In line with the Education Policy, lifelong learning programs (certificate programs, seminars, and courses) are organized for both university students and the wider community.
  • Within the framework of the Equal Opportunity Policy, both paid and free services are provided to support the personal and professional development of all individuals.

By utilizing the opportunities provided by technology, limitations of time and space are eliminated, ensuring that lifelong learning activities are accessible to all segments of society.

In addition, Istanbul Gelişim University fully complies with Article 10 of the Constitution of the Republic of Türkiye (Equality Before the Law) and the Higher Education Law No. 2547. Article 5 of this law states that one of the main objectives of higher education is “to ensure equality of opportunity and means in every respect” and assigns universities the responsibility “to contribute to society’s lifelong learning needs.”

Therefore, the university’s lifelong learning access policies are aligned not only with internal regulations but also with the national legal framework.

Through these policies and legal compliance, the university is committed to strengthening lifelong learning environments that are accessible, inclusive, and offer equal opportunities for all.
