Throughout 2024, IGU organized large-scale seminars and training programs in collaboration with high school-level educational institutions under the scope of the Science, Technology and Innovation Academy. Through the Academy, trainings were provided—particularly targeting youth—in areas such as digital literacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software development, aviation technologies, and sustainable engineering solutions. Off-Campus Lifelong Learning Trainings

Istanbul Gelisim University Continuing Education Application and Research Center (IGUSEM) organized numerous certified trainings and seminars throughout 2024 on topics such as cyberbullying, art therapy, and digital skills. These events, targeting different age and professional groups, demonstrated the university's contribution to SDGs within the scope of social responsibility. During this process, IGUSEM collaborated with institutions such as the Ministry of Health, Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), Gökkuşağı Educational Institutions, Öz Gıda İş Union, Bakırköy Municipality, Air Anka, Papara, Vakıf Katılım Bank, and Dünyagöz Hospitals Group. These efforts show a concrete contribution to the SDGs especially SDG 4, SDG 10, and SDG 17. International Student Office Activities

Istanbul Gelisim University International Student Office carries out numerous promotional and representation activities throughout the year, both domestically and internationally, with the aim of increasing the university's global visibility, strengthening international student diversity, and enhancing academic collaborations. Through participation in fairs, school visits, campus tours, and consular relations, IGU reaches prospective students from various regions—particularly Africa, the Middle East, and Asia—and establishes strong connections with diverse cultures. In doing so, it promotes international cooperation in line with the SDGs. These activities contribute to the development of multi-stakeholder global partnerships under SDG 17.
 

21–26.01.2024 – Lahor & Islamabad / Pakistan: Participation was ensured in the Turkish Universities Fair organized by the Maarif Foundation. One-on-one meetings were held with more than 1,500 students; IGU’s academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and international achievements were promoted. In addition, cooperation meetings were held with educational agencies in Pakistan.

21–27.01.2024 – Doha / Qatar: Within the scope of school visits and fair events organized by Alemni Shokran Education Company, promotional activities were carried out in six different international schools. Detailed information about faculties, departments, and career opportunities was provided to 1,500 high school students. The visit was concluded with an official meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Qatar.

02.02.2024 – Casablanca & Marrakesh / Morocco: Representatives from IGU’s International Student Office, Umedjon and Madiha, participated in the Turkish Universities Fair organized by the Maarif Foundation. The fairs were held on 3 February at the Casablanca Marriott Hotel and on 4 February at the Marrakech Kenzi Rose Garden Hotel, where approximately 2,900 students were engaged in one-on-one communication. The event increased IGU’s international recognition in Morocco and provided a significant opportunity for new student recruitment.

03–04.02.2024 – Abidjan / Ivory Coast: Participation was ensured in the Turkish Universities Fair organized by ASKUNI. IGU’s booth was visited by many students interested in undergraduate and graduate programs; meetings were held with various institutions regarding collaboration opportunities.

10-11.02.2024 – Dubai / United Arab Emirates: IGU participated in the ISTL Education Fair organized by Studyköy Education Agency at Swissotel Dubai. Throughout the two-day event, one-on-one meetings were held with approximately 60 prospective students, and information was provided about IGU’s academic programs, tuition structure, and dormitory opportunities. Although the planned school visits were canceled due to weather conditions, the fair provided an effective promotional opportunity in terms of student recruitment. It was observed that this year’s attendance was lower compared to previous years due to challenges related to living costs and residence permits in Turkey.

18.02.2024 – Riyadh / Saudi Arabia: At the fair, information was provided about IGU’s academic programs, international collaborations, and student life. One-on-one interactions with Saudi students helped increase interest in IGU. Additionally, potential collaboration opportunities with educational institutions in the region were explored, further strengthening IGU’s recognition and visibility in the Middle East.

25-27.02.2024 – Cairo / Egypt: IGU participated in the Edugate Education Fair held at Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Cairo in collaboration with StudyFans+ United Education. At the fair, detailed information was provided about our academic programs, campus facilities, and student life. Approximately 9,000 students attended the three-day event. This high participation significantly increased IGU’s recognition in Egypt and had a notable impact in terms of international student recruitment.

25–27.02.2024 – Jakarta & Makassar / Indonesia: IGU participated in the Turkish Universities Education Fair organized by Edutolia Education Consultancy. IGU’s academic opportunities, scholarship options, and campus life were promoted. Direct communication was established with more than 2,000 students in two cities. Additionally, the meetings held with the Turkish Ambassador in Jakarta, increased IGU’s visibility in the region.

06–09.03.2024 – Dar es Salaam / Tanzania: IGU participated in the Turkish Universities Fair organized by the Maarif Foundation and introduced the university to Tanzanian students. Throughout the event, one-on-one interactions were held with nearly 1,300 high school students, providing detailed information about academic programs, international accreditations, and student opportunities. Following the fair, local educational agencies were visited to explore collaboration opportunities. As the foundation university with the highest number of Tanzanian students, IGU further strengthened its leading position in this field.

20.04.2024 – Baku / Azerbaijan: IGU participated in the Turkish Universities Education Fair held in Baku by EKET Fuarcılık. IGU promoted its undergraduate and graduate programs, academic achievements, and current rankings. At our highly visited booth, prospective students were provided with detailed information about application procedures, scholarship opportunities, and student life in Istanbul. In addition, collaboration opportunities with other universities and educational institutions were explored throughout the fair. This event, aimed at increasing IGU’s international recognition, was successful and productive.

03–05.07.2024 – Kigali, Rwanda: IGU actively took part in the ICEF Africa Agency Workshop. At this international event, which hosted more than 400 agencies, IGU held one-on-one meetings with over 50 agencies, establishing significant partnerships aimed at attracting students from various regions, especially Africa. This participation, which contributed to expanding IGU’s global network, increasing diversity, and supporting the university’s internationalization strategy focused on the African region, has strengthened IGU’s global visibility.

14.07.2024 – Casablanca, Morocco: IGU participated in the EDIS 7 Education Fair organized by United Education. At the fair, IGU provided Moroccan students with information on popular fields such as architecture, engineering, and dentistry. Meetings held with, Commercial Attaché at the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Casablanca, and contributed to strengthening Turkey–Morocco educational collaborations. This fair, which increased IGU’s visibility in Morocco, became an important contact point for reaching qualified international students.

10.08.2024 – Cairo / Egypt: IGU participated in the education fair organized by OkTamam Company in Cairo, promoting its academic programs, international collaborations, and accreditation processes. Throughout the fair, communication was established with the academic community in Egypt, increasing IGU’s visibility in the Middle East and North Africa. The participation contributed both to the international student admission process and laid the groundwork for the development of regional collaborations.
